Connections

We normally recommend that you use the Stagecoach Bus Journey Planner or Traveline Scotland to plan journeys.

But the online travel planners have their limitations! For example, they were not quickly updated with the Coronavirus timetables!

Travel planners are not quick to respond to problems with individual buses or journeys - there are often two direct buses an hour between Leven and Edinburgh - and there is often a useful connection in Glenrothes between the direct buses. But do you know what to do if the express buses break down, are full, missing due to traffic problems etc?

The online travel planners don't know how quickly you can connect in Glenrothes with the X24 Glasgow buses and this route is as fast as catching an X27 via Kirkcaldy.

The 46 service takes you direct to Dundee. But it's still almost as fast on the X58 via St Andrews and the journey planners don't understand how quickly you can cross to the next stance in St Andrews Bus Station for a 99 to Dundee - but the X58 doesn't run all day...

Another limitation with travel planner apps is that they don't know about Go-Flexi the taxi-bus service that operates throughout North East Fife, enabling you to get to places that are not served by regular buses - such as Scotland's Secret Bunker or Kellie Castle on their F4 route.

This website aims to remedy these limitations in the journey planners by giving more publicity to these connections...
