Edinburgh Airport

The Stagecoach JET747 has changed back to one bus every 20 minutes from Monday 26th June 2023.

Normally Airports can be useful bus interchange points because lots of buses go there. Early morning and late night buses are especially likely to travel to airports. There are also toilets, eating places and shops to while away your time while waiting for a bus.

Edinburgh Airport can be a useful interchange point travelling between Leven and Glasgow.

Parking and Drop-off/Pick-up charges at Edinburgh Airport can be high - especially when you realise that you can park for free at Ferrytoll or Halbeath Park & Ride and catch a Stagecoach 747 to Edinburgh Airport and the 747 runs throughout the night.

Changing buses at Edinburgh Airport:

The Stagecoach JET 747 to Ferrytoll and Halbeath normally uses Stance G.

The stops buses use have changed gradually over time, and sometimes have temporary changes due to roadworks etc, so it is always worth checking with official operator timetables and Twitter feeds to see which stance the bus you want is using. If you are using Edinburgh Airport to change buses then you can save time, especially if your connection is tight, by changing buses at the "Airport Hotel" bus stop - get off your inbound bus at the stop opposite the Hilton Hotel, cross the road to the stop almost opposite and catch your departing bus on its way from the airport, saving a few vital minutes.

If you are changing between the 747 and the Citylink AIR/900 or the First Bus 600 to Livingston you could save even more time by changing at the Ratho Station bus stop on the A8 and crossing the A8 using a footbridge. But even the footbridge can be a scary way of crossing the very busy A8, so we recommend avoiding this method of changing buses unless you really need to save that much time for your connection.
